About Sophie
I grew up in Kambalda, Western Australia — a small mining town about 8 hours from Perth. It's small, it's remote, and sport was everything. I wasn't always the tallest or most talented kid on the court, but I was probably the one who dreamt the biggest. Representing Australia was something I'd dreamed about for as long as I can remember.
I moved to Perth at 13 and chose netball over basketball — mostly because my friends were playing it. From there I worked my way through the Netball WA state pathway, through the WAIS program, and eventually to the Western Sting in the ANL. In 2017 I won the ANL title with the Sting, was named grand final MVP, and broke the ANL goal scoring record. It was the first time I genuinely believed that little girl from Kambalda could live out her sporting dreams.
From Perth I moved to Sydney to join the NSW Swifts, debuting in Round 1, 2018 — my first game against Diamond legend Laura Geitz. Four seasons in Sydney brought two Super Netball titles (2019 and 2021), and by 2021 I'd also earned my Australian Diamonds debut. In 2022 I made the move to Melbourne and spent two years with the Collingwood Magpies Netball Team before the team folded at the end of the 2023 season. During those two years I also had the privilege of representing Australia at the 2023 Netball World Cup — and we won it. Wearing the green and gold on the world stage is something I'll never take for granted.
When the opportunity to join the Melbourne Vixens came in 2024, I didn't hesitate. Everything clicked that year. I played my preferred position, in front of some of the best crowds in the competition, alongside players I already knew and trusted. At the end of it I was awarded the Liz Ellis Diamond and named International Player of the Year. In 2025 we won the premiership — and those three finals wins are without a doubt the most satisfying of my career.
I've been through multiple programs, been coached by some of the best minds in the game, and learnt something different from every environment I've been in. Shoot with Soph is everything I've learned across that journey, distilled into eight weeks of sessions that any shooter can follow. I built the program I wish I'd had coming through the pathway.
It's all yours now — I can't wait to see what you do with it.
